What kind of maker are you? (Include sewing and any other mediums you work in)
I am primarily a graphic designer who also enjoys the tactile sensation of making things with my hands. I think of quilts as large 2-D designs that take on a sculptural dimension you can fold, manipulate, and curl up in.
How long have you been sewing/quilting?
I’ve been sewing sporadically for the past 20+ years
How many quilts have you made?
A couple dozen quilts with the majority having been made in the past 10 years
What (and/or who) got you into sewing?
A desire to have the perfect corduroy mini skirt in the 10th grade was my prime motivation to learn how to sew. Later I started experimenting with patchwork and made my first memory quilt in college (it’s really cringey). Sewing and quilt-making have been my go-to activities to escape reality.
If you could describe your style in three words, what would they be?
modern-traditional, colorful, geometric
What is one goal you have for sewing/quilting?
My quilt-making goal is simple: to keep experimenting and taking risks.
